Lapacho
Once brewed up, it tastes part floral and bark-like with a slight sweet aftertaste. Lapacho, also known as Pau D’Arco or Taheebo, comes from a huge splendid tree in the Amazon rain forest. The tree carries gorgeous purple flowers in the spring and these flowers keep the tree immune from disease, parasites and fungal attack. The inner bark is used to make up this tea. The local name for the tree is Tajy, which means, “ to have strength and vigour “. This infusion has beneficial medicinal properties and is especially gentle on the stomach.
